As we say goodbye to 2024 and the first semester, we turn our attention to the winter sports and a look ahead to the spring. While the action may have cooled with the temperatures, the Moore War will heat up once again as we get into the new year.
Standings
Moore 12-1
Westmoore 5-8
Southmoore 3-7
It’s not over by a longshot. With matchups on the court, mat and in the pool, the point totals will certainly be adjusted as we roll through the winter sports and jump into spring.
Basketball
Westmoore and Southmoore face off on January 30 th in a much-anticipated matchup. Southmoore boys have jumped out to a 4-2 record under head coach Tim Stogsdill. The SaberCats have big wins over Edmond Santa Fe and Edmond North before defeating Yukon by 30-points in a, 84-54 win. The Westmoore boys are currently 6-2 through December with wins over Tulsa Union, Enid, Bixby, and Norman.
The Moore Lions and coach Gregg Hardin are off to a nice start at 6-3. The boys have defeated Lawton Ike, Piedmont, Edmond Santa Fe and Lee Summit (MO). The John Nobles Tournament is set for January 23-25 th and promises to be one of the best in 2025.
Wrestling
Big duals are on the schedule in January. All three Moore school will compete on January 16 th . The gym will be packed and the wrestlers will be ready to score the takedown and help their teams grab a big win over their rivals. No change in the standings. Moore still leads as we enter the winter sports season. Keep checking for updates as we get deeper into the basketball, swimming and wrestling schedules.
