OUTLOOK

It’s a good time to be a Moore Lion. Head coach Gregg Hardin has the team ready for a long season and the players are hungry for state tournament play.

“Lions will have a chance to compete for the Gold Ball this season with the returning players and some additions to the team. One key will be the chemistry amongst players and playing together as one unit for one goal,” said coach Hardin.

The electric Tristan Hankins (6-2, Sr.) is back at guard. Hankins can play the point or shooting guard, giving the Lions a versatile player in the backcourt. A starter since his freshman season, Hankins brings a high basketball IQ to the floor and is one of the leaders of this team. Roman Miller (Sr.) is a transfer from Mustang HS where he was one of the leading scorers for the last three seasons. Miller is a shooting guard and has interest from D1 and D2 schools.

The X-factor this season will be Damonte Hines (6-9, Sr.) at forward. The swingman has great size and will give the Lions a legit threat in the paint. Hines is sneaky athletic and plays hard. Qualon Atkins (6-2, Sr.) is a combo player who will help the Lions in many ways this season. Also look for Jakari Davis (5-9, Sr.) at guard. Davis is quick with the ball and doesn’t mind the physical play.

Tez Singer (6-1, Sr.) and Chance Rogers (5-9, Sr.) are two guards that give coach Hardin solid options when he wants to mix things up. Singer has enjoyed a great summer and could have a breakout season.

Other players to watch include Hayden Stull (6-3, S.) at forward/center, Will Bryles (6-0, Jr.) at guard, and LaMarkus Lewis (5-10, Jr.) at guard. A solid group of underclassmen expected to see time this season includes Kavion Moss (6-1, So.), Trey Hankins (6-0, So.), Mauri Hankins (6-0, So.), Chance Younger (5-10, Fr.), Amare Cole (6-3, Fr.), and Tre Mason (6-3, Fr.).
