2021 Moore Football Schedule and Results
Good connections and making friendships are what the sport of football is all about for Moore High School frosh Cornelius “CJ” Simon.
“I started playing sports around age six,” Simon said. “Ever since then I’ve been dedicated. I love playing with my teammates and I love the fact that we all come together as a family. I want to continue to grow my strength in these sports.”
The season is going well so far, Jones said, and the Lions are 3-0 on the year.
“I believe that this team has a very bright future because of the hours, and hard work we put in every day,” he said. “As a team we stand for ‘tough people win’ (TPW). You are never going to get anywhere on the field if you don’t put in the work, effort, and time. My family helps me a lot and pushes me to be my best at all times. I’m very grateful to get the opportunity to start as a freshman on varsity. It’s very rare.
“You have to have the mindset that you are the best and I love being in the role that I’m the only freshman on varsity,” Simon continued. “Because I can show them that I’m not just a regular freshman, I work hard and work on my craft every single day. The older players took me under their wings and at practice, and they push me to get better every week, especially Marcus Dockins. I guard him every single day at practice because he pushes me, and he knows I have potential to be a big player for this team.”
In his free time, Simon said he enjoys hanging out with football team.
