Moore wrestling coach Robert Washington said sophomore wrestler Seth Shouse is an “everything” type kid who does whatever the team needs. This season Shouse is wrestling at 145-pounds, one of the toughest weight classes in Class 6A.
We caught up with Shouse before regular season ended to get his thoughts on the team and what being part of Moore wrestling means to him.
VYPE: Seth, what do you love most about your team and teammates at Moore?
Shouse: The thing I love most about my team and teammates is that they have a switch and know when it’s time to work hard and when it’s time to have fun.
VYPE: In the classroom, do you have a favorite subject or a favorite teacher?
Shouse: My favorite subject is Chemistry with Mr. Walker.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life, on or off the mat?
Shouse: My stepdad has had the biggest influence on my life. He has been the best dad I could ever ask for. He’s taught me so many life lessons, but I think the most important thing he’s shown me is how to work hard and not to quit until the job gets done.
VYPE: When you hear coach Washington call you an unsung hero of this team, what does that mean to you?
Shouse: This compliment means the world to me. I am always grateful for the opportunity to wrestle and grow. I’m so grateful to my coaches for believing in me and my teammates for pushing me every day.
