“Alan has the best energy of any student-athlete out there. He is always the team’s number one hype man. In addition to his stellar athletic performance, he is also a stand-out student,” said Head Coach Giana Hill.
We caught up with Alan to learn more about what makes this shark such a great competitor.
VYPE: Alan, what grade are you in this year?
Phan: I’m a senior this year.
VYPE: What events do you swim for Moore HS?
Phan: I swim every event, but my two best events are the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke.
VYPE: When did you start swimming in competition?
Phan: I swam for Moore High since 2018 and have been on a club team since I was 12 years old.
VYPE: How important are academics to you?
Phan: Academics are extremely important to me. I’m a student first, athlete second.

VYPE: What is your favorite class?
Phan: My favorite class this year is my leadership class (FUSE).
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
Phan: After high school, I plan to attend the University of Oklahoma and major in the health field.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
Phan: Our team is filled with different people. Each person has a unique personality and character. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as everyone brings something new to the table. It’s always a joy to interact with my teammates as each conservation is nothing like the one before. But what makes me love this team is our competitive nature. We don’t shy away from our competition but rather face it straight on. It’s not every day that you get to see this competitive fire from a team.
