The Lions of Moore High School finished the 2020 volleyball season with 18 wins and 16 losses leaving them wanting more. Volleyball is a sport that of course takes talent, but also takes a team that has individuals that thrive playing a game that requires a short memory and knowing your role whether it is on or off the court.
Returning players such as Sara Freeman, Artina Williams, Maddi Thompson, Reilly Morrow, and Emily Miller have the ability to lead this team to success in more ways than just wins. Freeman gets the nod from head coach Rachael Travis as the player with great potential to become the go-to player this year.
Williams is another player that can help the Lions on the court despite being an underclassman. Williams has impressed her coaches throughout her time on the team and could be a real problem to opposing teams. Every team needs a player like Maddi Thompson, someone willing to do whatever it takes to win and not expect the recognition for her sacrifices on the court.
Morrow and Miller are two solid players that coach Travis is excited to see take the court this season. The Lions will be a team to watch in 6A this season.
