For Moore High School senior Lillian Brennan, cheerleading is built on the unseen work, trusted teammates and the determination to grow through every challenge.
A varsity cheerleader for the Lady Lions, Brennan contributes as a main base and tumbler. While spectators see the finished product under the lights or on the competition floor, she understands the commitment required long before a routine takes the stage.
“I am a main base and a tumbler on the Moore cheer team. The hardest part about it is the reps that people don’t see behind the scenes. People only see when we are on stage showing off, but no one sees the rep. It takes to get there. What I love most about my team and teammates at Moore is the how close everyone is. We have a really special bond and enjoy each others company.”
As a captain, Brennan values leadership throughout the roster. She pointed to fellow captain Kailyn as someone who brings an important voice to the team.
“Kailyn my other captain is probably the most vocal she keeps everyone on track and make sure we are all on the same page.”
Brennan’s work ethic is also shaped by her older brother, whose example motivates her to stay committed even during difficult days.
“My older brother inspires me to work hard even on the days. We don’t feel like doing anything you have to get up and do it anyways to be the best version of yourself.”
Away from cheer, Brennan stays involved through Student Council, Moore Love and other leadership opportunities.
“After high school I would love to continue cheering in college as well as getting a degree in elementary education.”
Brennan said one of her greatest strengths is basing, where she has learned to rely on technique.
“A lesson I learned was seeing the beauty in the pain. Last year was a hard year mentally for me, but I grew a lot as a person and found little things that brought me joy through it.”
Her resilience, commitment and appreciation for her teammates continue to define Brennan’s experience as a Moore Lady Lion.
