Q&A with Moore’s Treveon “Tre” Mason – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Pickles American Grill

Moore’s Treveon “Tre” Mason

VYPE: Tre, what life lessons or skills has basketball taught you that you use in daily life?

Treveon “Tre” Mason:IQ, always being aware of my surroundings, patience and making smarter decisions.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

TM: Being with the same guys since seventh grade is really cool. Meeting and working with new teammates will make us even stronger. I am looking forward to that.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

TM:Tristan Hankins, because I can struggle with confidence at times, and he helped me believe in myself. He is a leader.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

TM:I played soccer first, moved to Tennessee and started playing rec basketball. I came back to Oklahoma, and my grandma got me into AAU. I’ve just kept going.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

TM:I want to thank my mom and my grandma for being my biggest supporters. Also, all the coaches who helped and believed in me. They got me to where I am today.

VYPE:What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

TM: Being able to put on my uniform with our school colors and knowing it’s not just a game. It’s a representation of who we are.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory and/or accomplishment of playing?

TM:Making it to the State final four and also winning the Area Championship with the seniors in my freshman year.

VYPE: Do you have any hobbies or anything special you would like to share about yourself?

TM:I was offered my first NIL sponsorship this year and have been a member of the NHS since seventh grade. I love playing with Legos in my downtime and supporting my little sis with anything and everything she wants to do.

VYPE: What is the most memorable vacation you have taken and why?

TM:I got to go to South Carolina for a 3SSB AAU tournament and then Las Vegas for another AAU tournament. This was during middle school, the best days of my life so far…
